Yatsenyuk: A roundtable of national unity will take place on May 14
12.05.2014 10:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As to Government Portal, on Friday, May 9, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and the Ukrainian Cabinet members participated in a special prayer to honor the memory of the deceased in World War II. The prayer took place in St. Volodymyr Cathedral in Kyiv and was conducted by the Patriarch of Kyiv and all Rus-Ukraine Philaret.
After the prayer Arseniy Yatsenyuk told media people: «Today is a remarkable day. On the one part - it a day of tragic events, as millions were deceased. On the other part - there was a joint victory over fascism».
«69 years ago, we and Russia were fighting against fascism and gained the victory. But now Russia has started war against Ukraine. History is repeated in another form,» he said.
The Head of Government emphasized Russia has to stop, «cease supporting terrorists who are killing innocent citizens in Ukraine and who were the reason that the anti-terrorist mission has kicked off».
Yatsenyuk declared the authorities are carrying out a nation-wide dialog. He informed that a roundtable of national unity will take place on May 14: «Ukraine needs unity, dialog and peace».
«There will be peace - but only at time when terrorists aren’t stimulated by Russia, which had been fighting with us side-by-side 69 years ago. Now, however, these are Germany, Great Britain and the USA which are side-by-side with us,» Yatsenyuk said.
