Ukrainian Agricultural Ministry initiates pilot project on installation of irrigation systems

The Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine has initiated the realization of a pilot project on the restoration of irrigation systems in south of Ukraine worth $1.2 billion."We want to re realize a pilot project which will foresee irrigation on the area of 250,000 hectares," NRCU says referring to the Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk Kyiv press conference report.
As to Prysiazhniuk, in a week a draft resolution on the realization of a pilot project on the basis of the Kakhovka canal is to be put up on the agenda of the Ukrainian Cabinet meeting."We dont need to return interfarm pipelines from rural communities to state ownership," he said. A tender among investors will be held to select an investor to finance the project. It is expected that Export-Import Bank of China, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Export-Import Bank of the United States will take part in the tender.
