Azarov: The first tranche of the loan from the Russian Federation will go to securing social stability
23.12.2013 15:36 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The first tranche of the Russian loan will be directed to ensure the social stability within the country. The Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov declared that on the air of the Shuster Live program of the INTER channel, Government Portal reports.
«This placement is performed in compliance with the standard international rules, there are no encumbrances in it. Thta means we have a right to manage these funds as it is envisaged by our legislation and the law on budget. You know we have received postponement in payments for gas, so the first tranche - 3 billion − will be directed, first of all, to realization of that factor which will assure our possibility to finance all our expenses,» Mykola Azarov said.
At this, the Premier emphasized that in connection with the difficult financial-economic situation Ukraine would have to agree either to a proposition of Russia or the IMF.
«We had just one way out: to agree to a proposition of Russia or the IMF. So, we would have never afforded bankruptcy of Ukraine, never afforded default - and, if we had chosen the IMF proposal, we would have to agree with all its conditions with all the following consequences,» Mykola Azarov said.
