Ukrainian President invites opposition to hold dialogue
12.12.2013 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As to President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office,
the President made a statement in which he invited the opposition to hold the dialogue.
«I have repeatedly emphasized that the only possible way is the way of reconciliation and consensus. The actions of both parties should be taken solely within the laws and the Constitution of Ukraine,» the Head of State noted.
«I invite representatives of all political forces, priests, public figures to hold the nationwide dialogue. Personally I am ready to take part in such panel discussion,» Viktor Yanukovych said.
«In order to achieve compromise, I urge the opposition not to refuse, not to choose the path of confrontation and ultimatums. I assure that the government will act exclusively in the framework of the law and will never use force against peaceful rallies,» the President emphasized.
«As the President of Ukraine and the guarantor of the Constitution, I will do everything necessary to ensure normal functioning of the country, protect the rights and interests of every citizen and ensure peace in our state,» Viktor Yanukovych stressed.
