President: Ukraine's presidency in CIS in 2014 will be aimed at ensuring further development of Organization

In 2014, Ukraine will preside in the CIS. It was stated by the President at the meeting of the CIS Council of the Heads of State in expanded format within last week, President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office reports.
«We take over this honorable mission from the Republic of Belarus which provided Ukraine an opportunity to focus on the work within the OSCE in 2013,» the Head of State said noting the successful work of Belarus as Head of the CIS.
«Under the concept of the presidency, we are planning to focus our work first of all on further development of the CIS and on the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation that meets national interests of every member-state,» Viktor Yanukovych said.
The President also reminded that Ukraines work in that context would be built under the principles of succession in the implementation of decisions made by the supreme bodies of the CIS and initiatives put forward by the previous heads.
