Eurasian parliamentary body may be set up in 2015

The Eurasian parliamentary body may be set up in 2015, Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Russian State Duma’s Committee for the CIS, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots, MP of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, told a press conference, Belarus Radio reports.
In his words, debates regarding the Eurasian parliamentary body are quite intensive. Forums highlighting the issue have already been held in Minsk and Saint Petersburg. Similar events will be held in Kazakhstan this year. In his words, one of the variants for the future Eurasian parliamentary body is an inter-parliamentary association of delegations of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, similar in the work of other inter-parliamentary organizations. According to Leonid Slutsky, apart from the common economic space and parliamentary dimension, the Eurasian Economic Union will have the unified security space based on the CSTO and should have a single information space. In particular, the MP supports the ideas of the President of Kazakhstan to launch the unified informationn TV channel with a working title Eurasia-24.
