01.10.2013 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Brussels is ready to discuss with Kyiv the mechanism of assistance in bringing the Ukrainian economy in line with European standards after the association and free trade agreement between Ukraine and the EU is signed, said Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski, NRCU reports.
«EU Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht will soon visit Kyiv, and the agenda of negotiations also includes the question of EU assistance to Ukrainian exporters in obtaining European certification after the free trade agreement is signed,» he said. «We are working to help Ukrainian exporters with certification in the EU. It is planned to develop an instrument to resolve this problem,» Tombinski said. The diplomat recalled that the free trade agreement, which is expected to be signed at the Eastern partnership summit in Vilnius this November, envisages a ten-year transition period for bringing the Ukrainian economy in line with European standards and technical regulations.
