Prysiazhniuk: Farmers will complete sowing of basic spring crops by mid-May

Ukraine has almost completed the sowing of basic spring grain and leguminous crops, which will be completed by mid-May. As of today, more than five million hectares or 62% of the projected area have been already sowed, agricultural policy and food minister Mykola Prysiazhnyuk declared, ForUm reports.
The minister also noted that this year the farmers have better resource provision to complete successfully the sowing campaign compared to previous years.
He also said that the agribusiness companies are attracting actively financial resources for spring field work. They have already attracted loans worth six billion hryvnia.
In addition, Prysiazhniuk stressed that the sowing of winter crops is being constantly monitored.
