Ukrainian dairy market

Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market some dairy products prices continued growing up, as earlier. Prices growth has been supported by domestic raw milk output gradual slackening (though raw milk output still remained rather high) and export market sales high rates. However, at same time, within this week Ukrainian export market dairy products still faced high competition, as earlier. It is to be admitted, within this week some big Ukrainian producers refused to make their ready products sales on country domestic market at current low prices — what in turn has additionally supported domestic market prices growth.
Thus, within this week Ukrainian domestic market SMP prices have grown to UAH39–43 per kg (up 1.23% against previous week/up 1.39% as of last month similar); export market SMP prices, however, were US$1,550–1,600 per MT (unchanged against previous week/down 0.16% as of last month similar). Experts admit though within this week Ukrainian SMP output remained rather high (due to seasonality factor) but, at same time, it has already started gradually declining. Besides, experts say within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market SMP prices growth was as earlier additionally backed up by export market SMP high rates.
As of this week, Ukrainian home market WMP prices have lifted to UAH48–50 per kg (up 1.55% as of last week); external market WMP prices, however, remained US$2,100–2,250 per MT (same as of last week). As of previous, within this week Ukrainian home WMP sales remained zero low; Ukrainian producers unsold WMP reserves remained big due to seasonality factor. Though Ukrainian home market demand remained low, processors have succeeded to make WMP sales on country external market .
As of this week, Ukrainian domestic market block butter (72.5% fat, DSTU) prices have lifted to UAH44–46 per kg (up 1.12% against previous week/up 7.30% as of previous month similar); export market block butter (72.5% fat, DSTU) prices were US$2,350–2,600 per MT (unchanged against previous week/up 4.76% as of last month similar).
It is to be admitted, within this week Ukrainian domestic market butter prices have grown mainly due to domestic raw milk output slight lowing and owing to Ukrainian producers preferring to accumulate their ready products at warehouses (in search for export market purchasers) rather than start selling at domestic market at current prices (what has been caused by big difference in domestic/export markets prices).
As of this week, Ukrainian domestic market cheese prices have grown to UAH75–82 per kg (up 0.64% against previous week/up 3.63% as of last month similar); export market prices were US$3,200–4,000 per MT (unchanged as of last week/down 2.04% against previous month similar). In meanwhile, this week Ukrainian domestic market cheese demand remained weak; export market demand also remained slack due to high competition on part of EU countries.
Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic/export markets casein prices have slightly lifted: thus, domestic market casein prices have improved to UAH100–107 per kg (up 0.98% against previous week, but down 0.48% as of last month similar); export market prices have risen to US$4,200–6,400 per MT (up 2.33% as of last week/up 1.73% as of last month similar).
However, experts admit within this week Ukrainian export market casein sale rates remained slack due to global market low prices.
As of this week, Ukrainian domestic market demineralized whey prices ranged within UAH10,70–11,50 per kg (unchanged against previous week/down 4.31% as of last month similar); export market prices were US$415–450 per MT (same as of last week/down 4.42% as of previous month similar). Besides, within this week Ukrainian domestic market classic whey prices fluctuated within UAH11,00–11,50 per kg (same as of last week/down 3.45% as of last month similar); export market prices ranged within US$400–405 per MT (unchanged against previous week/down 0.46% as of last month similar). Within reporting week purchasers’ activity on Ukrainian domestic/export markets remained slack. As of this week, Ukrainian producers unsold demineralized whey reserves remained big (classic whey reserves, however, were very low).
