Ukrainian Market / Sunflower

As earlier, within reporting week Ukrainian territory has been dominated by severe frost. Unfavorable weather conditions have reduced sunseeds sale/purchase operations number down to minimum low. Market operators admit this week trade was very slack: major part agrarians simply didn’t want to transport sunseeds under so sever frost, while other part still hadn’t decided whether to start selling off their sunseeds reserves. As a result, market situation has prompted processors to raise up domestic market sunseeds purchase prices. It is to be admitted, sunseeds  purchase prices have been growing up within 4 weeks in succession, but agrarians still haven’t raised their offer. So, it is possible to suggest sunseeds purchase prices will continue growing up until frost subsides. In our opinion, since this year mid Feb Ukrainian domestic market sunseeds prices will start going down.

Within reporting week EXW basis sunseeds purchase prices ranged within UAH3,250–3,450 per MT (for middlemen) and UAH3,600–3,750 per MT (for agricultural producers).

As of this week, CPT basis sunseeds purchase prices fluctuated within UAH3,750–4,000 per MT (for agricultural producers) and UAH3,450–3,650 per MT (for middlemen).

Within reporting week traders have also grown ports sunseeds purchase prices up to UAH3,500 per MT (excl. VAT); however, there was no active trade in this market segment due to logistics problems.

Within this week sunseeds export prices ranged within US$526–532 per MT (FOB Black Sea ports).
