Yanukovych: Path of modernization the only possible one for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said he is confident that the chosen path of modernization and reform in Ukraine is right, and noted the growth of the country’s economic ratings.
«The path that we have chosen — the modernization of our country is the only possible path that can bring success in raising the level of the economy and improving people’s lives on its basis,» the President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office
quoted him as saying at a meeting with candidates for the post of heads of district state administrations. Yanukovych also noted the need to improve the competitiveness of domestic products on world markets and drew attention to the first positive results of the reform of the country. «Various rating agencies confirm that Ukraine is gradually improving its image as a country with a market economy,» he said. He also said that a great deal of work has yet to be done in the creation of conditions for the development of small and medium businesses, the improvement of the investment climate, and the simplification of mechanisms for the provision of administrative services.
