Agricultural cooperation can solve the problem of rural employment
15.01.2013 13:29 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
One of the main objectives for 2013 year is the revival of rural areas through the development of agricultural cooperatives. It can solve the problem of rural employment. So, today there are in Ukraine 851service cooperatives. This was stated by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, Government Portal reports.
«Rural Development is the first priority for 2013 this has been repeatedly stressed by the President. We have to revive the welfare of the peasants by motivating them to agricultural production. Population produces 76% beef, 56% pork, 18% of poultry and 78% milk. And one of the most effective mechanisms for labor in rural areas remains cooperatives. Today in Ukraine there are 851 agricultural co-operatives,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk noted.
He stressed that the state will encourage the creation of processing and service cooperatives in livestock, gardening and berry, purchases of feed, harvesting and primary processing of products.
«Creating a cooperative of fuel cycle will enable to increase added value through enhanced processing of animal products, which will create jobs and reduce the price of finished products due to its implementation directly at the place of production,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
Also Mykola Prysyazhnyuk reminded that an important motivation for farmers to organize service cooperatives are payment to farmers of state support for the keepining and maintenance of young cattle, reimbursement of purchased milking machines and stimulation of realization of cattle to processing plants.
