Ukrainian consumers will get nearly 32 million tons of vegetables

This year, Ukrainian farmers will gather a harvest of vegetables over 32 million tons, of which almost 23 million tons of potatoes. The corresponding amount of harvest will fully ensure food security of the country, because exceeds the population demand. Such stocks of vegetables under proper storage conditions will help ensure further stable price situation, Government Portal reports referring to Oleksandr Sen, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
The Deputy Minister reminded that it is expected to gather more than 1.7 million tons of cabbages (population needs - 1.5 million tons); table beet - 878.7 thousand tons (population needs - 606,000 thousand tons); carrots - 897.6 thousand tons (population needs - 649,000 thousand tons) and over one million tons of onion (population needs - 763,000 thousand tons).
