The conditions for payment of compensation to the farmers have been determined

13.11.2012 18:16 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — The Ukrainian Government led by Mykola Azarov takes all necessary measures in order not to repeat last year’s situation when due to severe climatic conditions farm workers lost part of the harvest and income, Mykola Azarov Official Website reports. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food continues to work on improving the procedure for obtaining the right to compensation of insurance payment. In particular, the list of documents and the deadline for their submission to the Commission, which determine agricultural producers who receive compensation, have been set. In order to protect property interests of the farmers and to ensure the stability of production in agriculture, the Law of Ukraine «On peculiarities of insurance of agricultural products with state support» has been passed. The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution to approve the procedure and conditions for the provision of state support to agricultural producers as regards agricultural crop insurance. In addition, subsidization of insurance is provided in 2012 for insurance of winter wheat for the period of overwintering in the amount of up to 50% of the cost of the insurance payment, after farmers pay premiums to the insurer. Now Ukrainian farmers complete sowing campaign, and there are already good sproutings at a large area of winter crops. It has been determined that the farmers for obtaining the right to compensation of insurance payment submit to the Commission within five working days after the conclusion of the insurance contract an application in the form prescribed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. They must also submit a certified copy of the contract, copies of payment and settlement documents certifying the amount of actually paid insurance payments, reference with bank details of the insured, the certificate of good standing (mandatory payments). If the Commission takes a positive decision, the farmer receives a corresponding certificate and is included in the register of the insured, who are entitled to compensation. This data shall be submitted to the Commission, formed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, not later than December 12.
