President: Ukraine reaffirms its title of world leading grain state

Ukraine has reaffirmed its title of world leading grain state. It was stated by the President at the opening of the 24th International Agricultural Exhibition «AGRO-2012» on Wednesday, says President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office.
«Agriculture in our state is one of the cornerstones of our economy, guarantee of stability and confidence in the future,» the President said. «Ukrainian farmer has always been a caring owner who can work, introduce new technologies and produce high-quality goods».
Viktor Yanukovych reminded that a large proportion of national GDP is formed in the agricultural sector.
The President said that our agricultural sector demonstrated strong growth this year, the volume of agricultural production increased in 15 regions, the production of grain and leguminous crops is estimated at almost 46 million tons.
The Head of State also noted that since the beginning of 2012 Ukraine has exported agricultural products for more than 9 billion dollars which is 35% more than the corresponding period in 2011. «I sincerely congratulate all farmers on this success,» the President said.
