Who will get one billion US dollars?
26.03.2003 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) - The government of USA can allocate 1 billion US dollars for purchase and urgent delivery of grain to Iraq. There are Australia, Turkey and Ukraine among countries, in which these purchases can be carried out. The chief of the company "SovEcon" Andrey Sizov has noticed in interview to agency Reuters that Australia has the highest chances of carrying out of such deliveries. Deliveries from Turkey, which has conducted the large tender of wheat import from EU and Kazakhstan recently, are improbable. There is rather intense current balance of grain in Ukraine. It will be very difficult for Ukraine to export additional volumes of grain. Therefore it is impossible to exclude Russia from the list of the probable suppliers, which are capable to deliver grain to Iraq as soon as possible. Now Russian export opportunities are much higher, than opportunities of Ukraine and Turkey. SovEcon
