Cabinet suspended railway transport tariffs raising question examining

As of Apr 2, Cabinet has again
removed from agenda examining of railway transport tariffs raising
problem on Ministry of Transport and Communication request, reports
Proua.com. referring to Cabinet
Transport Ministry seems to have finally heard appeals of
metallurgic branch representatives, who have earlier addressed Ukrainian
National Security Council
demanding not to permit unsubstantiated railway transport tariffs
boosting, bringing perishing consequences for domestic economy.
Metallurgists appeal was motivated, as it is known, with
Government decision on
some kinds goods railway tariffs to be boosted not 30% or 50%, yet 100% or
even 200%.
As earlier reported, Cabinet had decided to raise railway
cargos transportation tariffs averagely by 50% starting since Apr.
Cabinet had as well decided to create Interdepartmental
Commission, participated by Ministry of Industrial Policy, Ministry of
Agrarian Policy, Ministry of Economics, Finance Ministry as well as
representatives of other branches actively using railway transportations.
Agrarian-Industrial Complex public associations had addressed President
Viktor Yushchenko and Prime Minister Yuliya Tymoshenko asking to move
agricultural products transport tariffs raising data from Apr 1 unto Jul
1.
As to Ukrzaliznytsia, presently transport companies pay for flour
transportation
UAH24.4/t (up to 655 km), while since Apr 1 price will reach UAH36.7/t
(same distance).
Grain transportation price since Apr 1 will equal to UAH39/t (up to 560 km),
against current UAH32.9/t, while sugar transportation price since Apr
will be grown from UAH21.6/t to UAH 32.5/t (up to 548 km).
