Baranovskiy doesn’t consider spring sowing critical

Oleksandr Baranovskiy, Minister of
Agrarian Policy, doesn’t consider this year springtime field works
progress critical, in spite of spring crops sowing significant delay
owing to unfavorable weather conditions, reports Ukrainian News referring
to Baranovskiy.
As to Baranovskiy, agrarians have sown spring crops at
150.000 ha, while within last year similar period spring crops were sown
at 3.5 million ha.
As earlier reported, as of Mar 25, agricultural companies
have sown early grains/leguminous at 116.000 ha.
This spring agrarians plan to sow spring grains/leguminous
at 8 million ha, down 1 million ha against areas sown for 2004 harvest,
while total spring crops are planned to be sown at area of 17 million ha
(industrial crops 4 million ha).
As to Ministry of Agrarian Policy estimation, this year springtime field
works financial resources requirement is UAH8.6 milliard.
Agrarians are going to sow spring crops at total area 17 million
ha.
