Yanukovych: Ukraine intends to intensify gas talks with Russia

Ukraine intends to intensify negotiations with Russia to solve the problem of gas as soon as possible, President Viktor Yanukovych told Ukrainian journalists in Amman, Jordan, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
Viktor Yanukovych informed that he had discussed this issue with Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation yesterday. «We have discussed a number of problems in our interstate relations. We have agreed to meet soon, before [Vladimir Putins] inauguration, and continue our dialogue,» said Viktor Yanukovych.
The President added that Ukrainian-Russian relations are developing positively and rapidly, and the gas issue is probably the only one that remains to be solved. «We will intensify our negotiations to find a solution to this issue,» said Viktor Yanukovych.
When asked if he plans to visit Russia to attend the inauguration ceremony of Vladimir Putin, Viktor Yanukovych replied: «If I receive an official invitation, I will of course go to Moscow.»
