Europe cannot look totally united without Ukraine
04.04.2012 11:24 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryshchenko says that Europe cannot look entirely united without Ukraine. He expressed this opinion during his speech at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in the UK, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
Europe cannot look fully integrated while its geographically largest nation remains outside the EU, Hryshchenko said. He noted that Ukraine’s European integration is mutually important both for this country and throughout Europe. The Minister said that today’s dialogue between Ukraine and Europe is proceeding on common grounds and based on the principles of mutual responsibility. In addition, Hryshchenko said that the division of Europe to the EU member states and countries outside the EU hinders the effective use of economic, natural and human potential of the European continent. To address more than 70 British experts on subjects of Ukraine and Eastern Europe, the Minister chose the theme of European integration and security policy of Ukraine. The Minister wrote on Twitter he was impressed that the UK traditionally supported the idea of EU enlargement, so it was very interesting both to express one’s own opinion and hear others’.
