Largest investment in Crimea comes from Russia, Cyprus, Austria

In 2011 direct investment into the economy of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was USD 422.2 million, 3.4 times more than in 2010. Two-thirds of the total belongs to investors from Russia, Cyprus and Austria, says the Statistics Office in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea report.
«Two-thirds of the total investment belongs to the investors from three countries - Russia (27.6%), Cyprus (23%) and Austria (15.7%). Among the major investors in the Crimean economy are also Virgin Islands (Great Britain), the UK, Germany, the USA, Seychelles, France and Uzbekistan,» says the report. Overall, the investment in the Crimean economy came from 48 countries. At the same time, 40.8% of investment was accumulated in industry, 20.9% - in construction. Crimea’s direct investment into the foreign economies as of January 1, 2012 totaled USD 2.162.6 million. The direct investment came to four countries, of which Poland received the largest portion.
