Frosts stop trading in vegetables, fruits
27.01.2012 17:43 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Strong frosts in Ukraine made farmers stop the sale of vegetables and fruits. Sharp cold spell leads to the fact that farmers massively suspend the sales, not wishing to open vegetable storages and to spend additional money for logistics.
According to the experts, next week, prices for products may rise by 510%, but with the rise of the temperature a price will drop again, high percentage of products’ decay is not ruled out at poorly equipped storage facilities. To remind, as Hydrometeorological Center forecasts, biting frosts will last in Ukraine until February 4.
