In 2011, agricultural products’ export increased by 28.5%

Foreign economic activity of Ukraine on the food market actively improves. In particular, last year volumes of export of agricultural products totaled $ 12 billion, whaat is 28.5% more than in 2010. The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk stated this on January 18, 2012, during a press conference.
"In 2011 export volumes of agricultural products increased for 28.5% and amounted $ 12 billion. The positive balance is $ 5 billion. There was a number of essential factors which formed the balance: sunflower oil plus 25%, grain plus 27%, oilseeds plus 10%, and milk plus 5% ", informed the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to the Minister, searches for new markets for domestic agricultural products were successful during 2011.
«It is very nice and important for Ukraine that we expand the geography of supply of agricultural products. Within this year we have discovered the Bangladesh market, we actively work with the Middle and Far East countries. In addition, the Ministry has found understanding at the level of the Government in what concerns shipping barley to Saudi Arabia», Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
