Russia watching Europe – Putin
29.12.2011 15:07 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The Russian Federation is anxiously watching the situation in Europe stated Prime Minister Vladimir Putin at a news conference in Moscow.
The Prime Minster underlined the fact that Europe accounts for 51 percent of Russian trade and noted that many European countries have entered into a recession, as evidenced by their «prohibitively high» levels of unemployment for example Greece’s 17 percent and Spain’s almost 30 percent.
Prime Minister Putin expressed hope that decisions will be made to strengthen the European Union and stabilize its financial sector. He believes that Germany and France will take adequate measures, but expects more activity from the European Central Bank.
The Russian Prime Minister has no «apocalyptic predictions» regarding the situation in Europe and according to him, «if the work is coordinated, we will be able to cope with threats.» Source: INTERFAX.
