Ukraine to assume CEI Presidency in 2012

A constituent meeting of the Organizing Committee on preparation and implementation of activities related to the Ukrainian Presidency in the Central European Initiative (CEI) in 2012 was held at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostiantyn Hryshchenko.
Ukraine will be chairing this international organization for the first time, and the success of the Presidency will promote the consolidation of our country as an efficient European player," Hryshchenko emphasized. The meeting was attended by more than 10 central executive authorities that the Cabinet of Ministers had made responsible for organizing and conducting activities under the Presidency of Ukraine in the CEI. The participants discussed the implementation of an action plan on preparation of the Ukrainian CEI Presidency in 2012, a calendar of events, an order of work of expert groups in accordance with the activities of the CEI and the Ukrainian Presidency priorities.
