Belarus Seven-Month Agriculture Exports Rise 22% to $1.5 Billion

Belarusian exports of agricultural products reached $1.5 billion in January through July, growing 22 percent compared with a year earlier, Belta reported, citing the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
The East European country posted a surplus of $822.5 million in foreign agricultural trade, a 9 percent increase, according to Belta, the Minsk-based, state-owned news agency.
Exports of pork climbed 86 percent while poultry and sausage shipments both more than doubled. Exports of whole milk solids fell 39 percent, skimmed milk 26 percent, and beef shipments 18 percent.
Belarus exported agricultural products to 42 countries this year. Russia remained the biggest buyer, consuming 90 percent of all Belarusian agricultural exports, valued at $1.4 billion.
