US Agricultural Department has stepped up its estimation of world wheat’s output
16.12.2004 10:29 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in its new report has again raised estimation of 2004/05 MY world wheat’s output to ≈ 618 million tons, up 1.1 million tons against its earlier made Nov forecast.
Estimation of world final wheat stocks has been also lifted to ≈ 142.83 million tons (up against earlier forecasted 142.2 million tons), while this season’s world wheat consumption is to reach 606.42 million tons (up 605.79 as of previous forecast).
Raising of world wheat output’s forecast is mainly due to grown estimation of 2004/05 MY wheat crops in Canada, EU 25, Bulgaria and Byelorussia.
Thus, Canadian wheat gross crop’s estimation has been raised by 1.85 million tons, up to ≈ 25.85 million tons (this figure coincides with Statistics Canada’s (Canadian Statistics Committee) estimation.
As to USDA’s experts, EU-25 countries have harvested 135.3 million tons wheat (up ≈ 800.000t against earlier forecast); forecasts of EU-25 countries’ internal wheat consumption as well as final wheat stocks have been also raised to correspondingly 116.25 è 17.88 million tons.
Simultaneously, USDA’s experts have lowered their forecasts of Australia’s wheat output and wheat final stocks, correspondingly to ≈ 21.5 million tons (down 1 million tons) and to 4.53 million tons (down 900.000t).
Estimations of wheat gross crop in Syria, South African Republic and Tajikistan have been as well slightly lowered.
