Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee warns grain traders against anticompetitive actions

Antimonopoly Committee has reminded to grain market participants about its constant market monitoring as well as warned against any anticompetitive actions, reported Antimonopoly Committee’s press-service. As to report, Antimonopoly Committee, worried by possible grain purchase price’s unmotivated lowering, is going to impose sanctions upon companies which low prices. As earlier reported, early Aug domestic market feed barley/wheat prices started growing due to exporters’ competency activation as well as grain harvesting slowing. Early Aug feed barley prices were UAH320-350/t, feed wheat prices ranged within UAH420-460/t. Presently State purchase 3 class wheat UAH800/t, 4 class wheat ~ UAH700/t. Experts forecast grain crop’s growing up to 35.5 million tons, with wheat up to ~ 14.3 million tons, barley up to ~ 10 million tons. 2003 grain crop was 20.2 million tons, with wheat ~ 3.6 million tons, barley ~ 6.8 million tons.
