Coca-Cola Hosts Birthday Celebration At Expo 2010
11.05.2010 13:10 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Commemorating the serving of the first icy-cold Coca-Cola in 1886, Coca-Cola today celebrated «Coca-Cola Day» at the 2010 Shanghai World Exposition. Coca-Cola hosted a series of mega-celebrations throughout the day including the first ever performance of African-born hip-hop artist, KNAAN in China along with Chinese pop-stars Jacky Cheung and Jane Zhang. Together they introduced the new Chinese version of «Wavin Flag Coca-Cola Celebration Mix,» the uplifting music anthem that will serve as the soundtrack to all global Coca-Cola marketing campaigns for its sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. Expo officials, thousands of Coca-Cola employees and tens-of-thousands of consumers attended the «Coca-Cola Day» celebration.
As the first corporate pavilion themed day at Expo 2010, «Coca-Cola Day» marked a celebration of the Companys history, from its humble beginnings selling the first Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), to today where the company has built a portfolio of more than 500 brands sold in 206 markets worldwide. Todays events are just the beginning of a celebration to welcome the 125th year since Coca-Cola was first served, which will be commemorated next year on May 8, 2011.
