Agrarians harvested 1 million tons grain

As of Jul 13, agricultural companies have harvested 1.037 million tons new crop’s grain (6% of total forecasted by Ministry of Agrarian Policy), report regions’ harvesting operative data. Wheat has been mown at area of 423.000 ha and threshed at area of 358.000 ha, with yielding capacity averaging 2.89 tons/ha. As of Jul 13, 1.134 million tons barley have been harvested, mown at area of 454.000 ha and threshed at area of 394.000 ha. Barley’s average yielding capacity amounts to 2.88 tons/ha. Total Jul 13 grain crop equals to 2.385 million tons, while early grains and leguminous are threshed at area of 834.000 ha. In total, 1.005.000 ha have been harvested upon. By now 17 regions have already started grains’ harvesting. Lviv, Zhytomyr, Ternopil regions haven’t still started harvesting early grains and leguminous. Ministry of Agrarian Policy expects this year grain crop to reach 33-35 million tons, while grains are to be harvested upon area of 16 million ha. 2003 grain crop, totaling 20.2 million tons, was substantially lower as of 2002 grain crop, which had reached 38.8 million tons.
