Agrarian Policy Minister: Ukrainian sugar prices won’t grow
02.06.2009 16:58 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukraine won’t face sugar deficit, reported Minister of Agrarian Policy Yuriy Melnyk. As to Melnyk, Ukrainian domestic market sugar prices won’t go up, either. “Prices won’t grow due to Government having adopted 2 decisions obliging Agrarian Fund and State Committee for Material Reserves (State Reserve) to bring to domestic market correspondingly 40,000 MT and 10,000 MT sugar. We expect them to start sugar selling since next week,” declared Minister. Melnyk admitted sugar will be sold at UAH3,71 per kg to companies which store sugar belonging to State Food Reserve (with trade markup not to exceed 15% of UAH3,71 per kg).
