Government adopted decisions to prevent swine flu penetration into Ukraine

Speaking on Apr 27/09 Government special meeting, Premier Yuliya Tymoshenko initiated urgent measures adoption to prevent swine influenza virus penetration into Ukrainian territory, reported Government press-service. As to report, Government has, in part., formed special Commission to avert spreading of this disease to our country territory, with Oleksandr Bilovil (Ukrainian Chief Sanitary Doctor) having been appointed Commission Chief. Besides, Tymoshenko has commissioned Ministry of Agrarian Policy to suspend pork shipments to Ukraine from countries wherein swine flu cases have already been registered. Also, Government Head has ordered to find out which pork lots had crossed Ukrainian border within last 3 months and which sale networks they were supplied to. Premier admitted it is necessary to introduce special control measures in customs houses to find out even small meat lots in luggage of citizens crossing Ukrainian border. “I insist on eliminating all these possibilities, so that not a single meat lot can be brought uncontrolled to Ukraine,” stressed Premier.
