Winter grains, sown for 2004 crop, have perished at area of 118.000 ha, 1.6% of total 7.300.000 ha sown last autumn, reported Yuriy Luzan, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy during Cabinet "hot telephone line" meeting with journalists. "As to our data, - said Y. Luzan, - winter grains are destroyed at area of 118.000 ha, while total winter grain’s state is estimated by Ministry of Agrarian Policy as good and satisfactory". Y. Luzan added, hat agrarians have already re-sown destroyed winter grains with spring grains, thus letting Minister of Agrarian Policy to forecast this year crop to be good. Last year, due to detrimental weather conditions, winter grains were destroyed at area of 3.8 million ha.
