Within first quarter Sarmat’s beer output up 19%, to 2.7 million dl

Within Jan-Mar this year, Sarmat (Donetsk), one of five biggest Ukrainian breweries, raised its beer output to 2.746.500 dl, up 436.000 dl (+18.9%) against Jan-Mar last year, reports State Foodstuffs Department’s representative, citing Sarmat’s data. As to State Foodstuffs Department, Sarmat’s Mar this year output totaled 1.151.200 dl beer, up 252.400 dl (+28.1%) as of Mar last year. Within 2003 first quarter Sarmat produced 2.310.500 dl beer. As reported, Sarmat is main company of Donesk Beer Group (numbering also 5 other regional breweries) and controls over ~ 15% domestic beer market. As to 2003 estimations, Ukrainian beer market capacity is 160 million dl.
