Yushchenko believes Ukraine should liberalize grains market
25.07.2008 08:47 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukraine should liberalize its grains market and cancel all Decrees on grains/sunoil trade limitations, declared Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko on extended press-conference today. As to Yushchenko, nowadays global grains reserves are lowest in global market history. “2008 grains crop won’t change anything radically. Ukraine should work out its future policy, – that is, we must perform Ukrainian grains market liberalization, cancel all Decrees on grains and sunoil trade restrictions… This is not Ukrainian agrarian policy, it kneels Ukrainian producers down, – they don’t know today where should they sell their meat, sunoil and sugar to. On other hand, we should give a definite answer. State budget amendments should stipulate 1.5 mn MT grains, so that we can say we have guarantee of Ukrainian population being able to stably live within frameworks of these prices. I demand this both from Government and Parliament, – they have to support this initiative,” stated President.
