Ukrainian frozen seafood will become more expensive
16.07.2008 09:44 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukrainian frozen seafood prices might grow 10-15% by end 2008, reported Viacheslav Khorev, Agama Trade Executive Director. “Though it is too early now to make any exact forecasts, – yet current global prices conjuncture (that is, diesel fuel and seafood resources prices constant rise) prove that suppliers purchase prices will start growing,” declared Khorev. As to Khorev, suppliers purchase prices growth will reach 5-10% by end 2008 (depending on articles groups/producing countries). “Big Ukraine suppliers are possible to act in 2 ways: either to low down profitability of each article in order to significantly raise trade turnover, – or to rise sale prices with resources purchase prices to be substantially declined,” emphasized expert. Khorev admitted present Ukrainian frozen seafood market realities don’t prompt all market participants to raise consumers supplies volumes. Thus, Khorev believes, Ukrainian consumers are quite possible to face new seafood prices already within this autumn.
