Agrarians have sown spring grains at 8.1 mn ha

As of May 23, Ukrainian agrarians have sown spring grains/leguminous at 8.1 mn ha (102% total planned), reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service.
As to press-service, agrarians have totally ended grain maize sowing (grain maize has been sown at 2.1 mn ha or 109% total planned). Besides, silos maize has been sown at 673,000 ha, perennial grasses at 1.6 mn ha (annual at 806,000 ha), green fodder winter crops at 91,000 ha, other fodder crops (i.e. root crops, beans) at 366,000 ha.
As to report, presently agrarians continue late groats crops sowing: buckwheat has been sown at 270,000 ha (78% total planned), millet at 86,000 ha (71%) and rice at 21,000 ha (96%).
Reportedly, this year late groats crops sown areas amounted to 3.5 mn ha (14% of total sown areas structure), up 443,000 ha against last year.
As to Agro Perspective earlier report, as of this year May 11, agrarians had sown spring grains/leguminous at 7,660.000 ha (96%).
As to Agro Perspective, Ukrainian Agricultural Minister Yuriy Melnyk declared he was certain this year grains crop forecasts would come true/grains crop would boost up to 38 mn MT.
