the American company will allocate $22,5 million for development of manufacture of biofuel
16.04.2007 12:07 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As they say on a site «FuelAlternative», American company ConocoPhillips will finance the 8-years program of the researches, the technologies devoted to development which allow to make renewed kinds of biofuel. The company plans to allocate $22,5 million to state university of state of Iowa which will carry out researches.
Financing by company ConocoPhillips is a step to creation of the program of the incorporated researches with the main universities of the country to create viable decisions which will allow to diversify energy sources in America.
ConocoPhillips will originally allocate $1,5 million in 2007 for carrying out of researches, with the subsequent financing $3 million a year within 7 years.
Renewed kinds of biofuel are made from organic materials, reduce emissions of hotbed gases, allow to diversify power resources. These kinds of fuel include the ethanol made from grain, and a biodiesel engine made from soya oil(butter). Expect, that advanced biofuel stalks and leaves of corn and millet will be made from a fibrous biomass, as, for example.
Robert C. Brown, director of an agricultural bureau of the state committee of biorenewed programs of state of Iowa, has noted, that ConocoPhillips is especially interested in transformation of a biomass into fuel by fast pyrolysis process, which uses heat in absence of oxygen to transform a biomass into a liquid product. This so-called bio-oil can be used as topochnogo black oil or can be transformed into transport fuel on NPZ.
Robert C. Brown has told, that ConocoPhillips also sponsors studying other thermochemical technologies which allow to make biofuel.
