Melnyk: Food Reserve grains stocks are 308,000 MT

State Food Reserve current grains stocks are estimated 308,000 MT, said Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy Yuriy Melnyk while giving interview to news agency Interfax-Ukraine.
«Besides, there are 308,000 MT grains stored in State Food Reserve,» said Melnyk.
Minister made it known authorities are going to sell part grains on domestic market in order to attract financial resources necessary to assure 2007 prices State regulation.
He also admitted Ministry of Agrarian Policy is going to initiate budgetary financing growth to assure Agrarian Fund foods purchases.
As to Agro Perspective earlier report, as of Nov 7, 2006 Agrarian Fund had purchased
100,600 MT grains (of total 400,000 MT commissioned by Government) for State Food Reserve replenishment.
As to Agro Perspective, 2006 grains crop totaled 34.3 mn MT.
Experts estimate Ukrainian internal market food grain annual requirement 6.57 mn MT.
