As to US Ambassador calculation, Ukraine has lost US$200 mn due to grains quotas
06.02.2007 11:00 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Due to Ukrainian Government having introduced grains export limitation, Ukraine has suffered US$200 mn losses, declared William Tailor, US Ambassador to Ukraine on his Odessa visit. «All losses I was witness to might be estimated about US$200 mn. These are losses of agricultural producers, transport companies and grain storage companies. That’s why we are interested in losses ending as well as grains trade resuming,» stated Tailor. It is to be reminded, Oct 2006 Cabinet had introduced firstly grains export licensing and then quoting. Traders dealing with Ukrainian grain consider Cabinet decision wrong.
