Melnyk: 6.3 mn ha winter grains sown areas state is satisfactory

Ministry of Agrarian Policy experts have estimated condition of 6.3 mn ha (90% total) winter grains sown areas as satisfactory/good, reported Serghiy Melnyk, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy. As to Melnyk, possible temperature gradual lowering can’t affect grains successful wintering. Melnyk made it known Ministry of Agrarian Policy experts urge agrarians to launch deratization/disinfection measures. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, within mid December Ministry of Agrarian Policy experts had estimated condition of about 20% total Ukrainian winter grains sprouts as unsatisfactory. It is to be reminded, within this year all categories companies had sown winter crops (excl. rape) for grain/green feeds at total 6.981 mn ha (as to State Statistic Committee), up 12.7% against 2005.
