State Reserve to buy 100,000 MT food grain Nov 14

State Committee for Material Reserves (State Reserve) plans to purchase 100,000 food grain (incl. 3 class wheat 70,000 MT/4 class wheat 30,000 MT) on Nov 14 contest, reported State Reserve source. «As of now, country grain market has got activated. Presently most grain is owned by big companies/traders who are in no hurry to sell it. Agrarians theoretical interest in sales to State Reserve has risen after grains export quotes introduction (what has been proved by rather high number of grain offers as well as applications for tender participation), but it doesn’t mean that tender grain purchases process will be as well activated,» told State Reserve source. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, Oct 12 State Reserve food wheat reserves totaled 843,000 MT. As to Agro Perspective, on Sept 12,19 grain purchase tenders State Committee for Material Reserves was offered to buy 2006 crop 3 class wheat 420,000 MT (Sept 12 tender 3 class wheat 263,000 MT; Sept 19 tender 3 class wheat 157,500 MT). State Reserve is going to purchase in total 400,000 MT new crop grains due to its 2006 reserves renewal/replenishment plan, with purchases to be finished in Oct. Domestic market food grain annual requirement is estimated 6.57 mn MT.
