Sept starch output down 28%, to 2,700 MT

Sept starch, inulin, wheat gluten, dextrin and modified starches output has fallen to 2,730 MT, down 1,849 MT (- 27.76%) against Aug, reported Agrarika Ltd referring to Sept companies preliminary data. As to Agrarika Ltd, this year Sept starch (inulin, wheat gluten, dextrin/modified starches) production is up 696 MT (+ 34.2%) as of last year Sept; this year Jan-Sept production totaled 29,678 MT (up against 25,597 MT in last year Jan-Sept). As to Agro Perspective earlier report, this Aug starch (inulin, wheat gluten, dextrin/modified starches) output had grown to 3,779 MT, up 72 MT (+ 1.9%) as of this Jul. As to Agro Perspective, 2005 starch output totaled 31,200 MT (up against 28,400 MT in 2004). Presently in Ukraine there are 15 plants specializing in starch production, with total annual capacity exceeding 50,000 MT. Starch is used as food product and as textile, pulp/paper, oil/gas industries resource.
