Switzerland to reduce yoghurts, snacks sugar content by 15%

As of this week, 14 Swiss Confederation big foods’ producers have signed the Erklärung von Mailand agreement under which they pledge to reduce the proportion of sugar used within their yoghurts and snacks by 1015%, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the All About Switzerland report.
As to the report, the agreement stipulates that the Swiss-made yoghurts’ sugar content is to decline by 10% (snacks 15%) as soon as 2024.
In meanwhile, the Swiss experts admit the purpose of innovations is not to limit the country domestic consumer choice; no one forbids eating sugar. However, the sugar content of those Swiss-made foods which are positioned as salutary ones, is to be reduced.
