Ukraine confirmed its status of a country free for FMD without vaccination

As of now, within Almaty (Kazakhstan), a Ukrainian delegation takes part within the international regional seminar within of the World Animal Health Organization on determining of the status of the country as for small plague of ruminants and foot and mouth disease (FMD),
Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection reports.
As to the report, at the event, Ukraine is represented by Olga Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection, and Head of the Department of Health and Welfare of Animals of the Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection Mykola Sonko.
Reportedly, as of now, within the seminar meetings, the experts exchange their experience on obtaining and confirming of the official status of the country free for FMD without vaccination; the experts also discuss other professional issues.
It is to be admitted, as of 1992, Ukraine received an official status of the country free for FMD without vaccination. Now, at the international regional seminar, this status has been confirmed just at the working level, while within the General Assembly of the World Animal Health Organization Delegates it will be recognized officially.
