Ukrainian agrarians bringing new products to EU markets
21.01.2019 23:16 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of now, the Ukrainian agricultural products producers are entering the European markets with their new products, Ukrinform says referring to Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for European Integration Olga Trofimtseva report made while commenting on the Green Week exhibition held within Berlin.
«Our producers are gradually „groping» the European market and bringing to it their new products," she said.
By way of example, she took mushrooms, butter and other dairy products (whose tariff quota usage is gradually boosted by the Ukrainian agricultural producers). As to her, all these are the products which have not been exported earlier by our agrarians.
As to her, a good example of a new product which has been started to be exported to the EU countries, is garlic. Thus, the Ukrainian agrarians didn’t use their garlic tariff quota until 2017. However, the agrarians have almost completely used it within 2018, and so Trotimtseva hopes this trend will recur once again this year.
As to Trofimtseva, now the Ukrainian agrarians, as earlier, traditionally don’t use their mutton and beef tariff quotas. As to her, the tariff quotas are not used due to mutton and beef remaining not opened for the EU export so far.
As to her, now the Ukrainian agrarians have good prospects for their agricultural products’ trade further activation and diversification.
