Belarus to build a river port on Ukrainian border to have Black Sea access

As of now, Belarus is considering construction of a river port on the Dnipro River (within its Gomel region near the Ukrainian border) to use the river-sea class ships to enter the Black Sea. A Turkish investor, Derin Shipping & Trading Co., is expected to be involved into the project, Interfax-Ukraine says referring to BelTA report
As to the report, the Belarusian ambassador to Turkey Andrei Savinysays that the project «will turn Belarus into a maritime state». The project can be implemented by building a port terminal in the village of NyzhniZhary (Bragin district, Gomel region).
«Our Turkish partners are considering the construction of a port in the Lower Zharakh of the Bragin District, which will turn Belarus into a naval state,» Savin told.
