Ukrainian Food Safety Service, Canadian delegation discuss cooperation prospects

As of this week, within the meeting of Head of the Ukrainian State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service Volodymyr Lapa with the Canadian delegation consisting of representatives of the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine and the agricultural associations of Canada, the parites have discussed the results of operation of the free trade area between the countries and prospects for further cooperation, Ukrinform says referring to the Ukrainian State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service report.
«The parties touched upon the issues of current cooperation between Ukraine and Canada, in part., within the context of the first anniversary of operation of the free trade area between the countries. In addition, the prospects for further cooperation were discussed, including the import of pedigree livestock and its genetic material into Ukraine as well as export of bees and bee packages, poultry meat, egg products, apples from Ukraine to Canada,» the report reads.
As to the report, within the meeting Lapa praised fruitful and professional cooperation with Canada within the issues of compliance with international principles and standards. In turn, the trade representative of the Canadian Embassy thanked the Service for its having had recently signed the international veterinary certificates for the pet food import to Ukraine.
