06.09.2018 23:08 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of this week, while sharing an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, Ukrainian Ambassador to Iran Serghiy Burdyliak said Ukraine is to preserve and expand the Iranian market, which is very important for our country.
«I think that we should not abandon the dialogue with Iran as well as the dialogue on the Iranian issue with all the parties concerned,» he admitted.
As to him, Iran has an impact on the region with a population of about 130140 million people.
«It’s a huge market!» he stressed.
He reminded that Ukraine has a high trade turnover with Iran. Thus, Ukraine-Iran 2017 trade turnover totaled over US$1.2 milliard, with 95% of Ukrainian exports to Iran being the agricultural products which did not come under the US sanctions.
«Moreover, the potential agricultural export to Iran totals US$3 milliard. Iranians call this figure as they are ready to purchase the agricultural products from Ukraine for at least US$3 milliard. But they want to have a long-term predictable partner, since the importance of food security for them is similar to the importance of the energy security for us,» the Ambassador emphasized.
