Ukrainian crayfish catching seasonal ban is on

As of this week, within Ukraine, the summer-autumn ban on the river crayfish catching has begun, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
As to the report, the ban has been introduced in order to protect and support the domestic crayfish population.
Reportedly, the date of the start and end of the ban may vary within Ukrainian regions depending on the local weather conditions.
As to the report, as soon as the ban efficiency period ends, one person per day is allowed to catch 30 crayfishes within the public water reservoirs and 50 within the paid-fishing reservoirs. where paid fishing is introduced. It is to be admitted, exceeding of the crayfish catching daily norm is punished with the administrative punishments (fine within UAH340-UAH) and the damage repaying as much as UAH25.5 for each illegally caught crayfish.
